Feeling

As the rain drummed against the marble floors of the Singhania Palace, Avni paced in her spacious room, her thoughts a whirlwind of emotions. The news of her impending coronation loomed heavy over her like a storm cloud. She had long desired the title of ruler, yet now, faced with the reality, doubt crept in. Would she be able to bear the weight of her family's legacy while navigating the treacherous waters of her dual life as a businesswoman and mafia leader?

Her brothers—Yuvan, Avyaan,Rudra,Kairav and Dhruvika—sat on her plush bed, the tension in the room palpable. Yuvi, the eldest, broke the silence. "What are you thinking di? I know you'll be a good ruler .” His voice cut through the air, a mix of concern and support.

Avni turned to face them, her warm brown eyes flickering with an intensity that mirrored the storm outside. “I have to be ready. This is what I wanted and I've trained for my entire life ,” she replied, her tone steady but her heart pounding. “But there are things I need to discuss with all of you. Things that could change everything.”

Before she could continue, her phone buzzed, the screen lighting up with Kabir's name. A smile tugged at her lips despite the weight on her shoulders. “It’s Kabir,” she announced, glancing at her brothers who exchanged knowing looks. They had seen the way she lit up in his presence, even through their shared struggles.

“Answer it,” Rudy urged, his mischievous grin breaking the tension. “You could use a distraction.”

Taking a deep breath, Avni swiped to answer. “Kabir, my stupid bastard! ” she said, her voice softening.

“Hey, mio diavolo,” he replied, the warmth in his voice wrapping around her like a comforting blanket. “I heard about the announcement. How are you holding up?”

“Not as well as I’d like,” Avni admitted, glancing at her brothers who were now listening intently. “It's a lot to take in.”

“Just remember, you’re not alone in this. I’m only a flight away if you need me,” Kabir reassured her. There was a sincerity in his voice that made her heart flutter, a stark contrast to the chaos that surrounded her.

As they continued to talk, Avni felt a renewed sense of strength. Kabir was not just her lawyer; he was her confidant and, unbeknownst to her brothers, a possible ally in her quest for control over the mafia.

After hanging up, her brothers pressed her for details. “I think bhai likes you,” Kai teased, nudging her playfully.

Avni rolled her eyes. “It’s not like that. He’s just... my best friend and supportive.” She replied with her signature look aka the deadliest glare.

“Supportive or not, you need to focus on your reign, Didi ,” Avy reminded her. “And about the family business—”

“Let's not talk about this. Didi you tell me, what do you want as your birthday gift? ” Dhruvi interrupted Avy earning a glare from him.

“ I don’t have anything in mind. Just gift me whatever you guys want” I shrugged. I went to the balcony. They were chatting in my room. I just stood there and looked at the garden. We have a huge garden. The garden looks beautiful. Specially the roses Rudra planted. He loves roses. Also the serene pond which Avyaan adores. And the cozy gazebo which Yuvan likes.

My brothers are ruthless including me. Yuvan is my younger twin. He is a wicked prince with those captivate grey eyes. He is the CEO of Singhania's. Avyaan is my youngest sibling. He is very cocky prince. He is the COO.Rudra is my cousin but he is very close to me. He is a flirty prince. Rudra is a singer basically a rockstar. Kairav is Kabir's younger brother. He loves me more than his brother. He is a lawyer. He is the CEO of their law firm. Dhruvika is Kairav's twin sister. She is like my own sister. She is also a lawyer and the COO of their law firm.

I heard some footsteps. Looking up I saw Kai grinning at me. He looks a lot like his brother. Same face, same look, same smile, just the eyes and personality is different. “Didi, you wanna say something?” Kai asked. I wanted to deny but he will caught me within a second. “ When that your stupid brother of yours is coming back?” I asked avoiding his curious glance. “ Next month. He said this only.”

Uff! This guy! Damm it. Tomorrow is my birthday and my best friend is god knows where. I will cut all ties with him once he is here. I swear. I heard Kai giggling before I stepped inside my room again. I'm strong enough to manage everything. I am maybe a girl in her late twenties, but I have alot of responsibility. I am still a crowned princess, the eldest heir. I have my own companies to look after. Also I'm a chairman of our family business. Not to forget, I handle all the mafia works. It is hard to look after but still, I've some revenge to take. After all this, sometimes I just need someone by my side. But unfortunately I don’t have any. Kabir is my best friend since childhood. He is the only one who knows everything about me and my revenge. But nowadays I miss him rarely. I REPEAT RARELY. But that bastard is out of reach for now.

The night was still young, and the storm outside raged on, mirroring the turmoil in her heart. Unbeknownst to her, Kabir was already on his way back to Jaipur, drawn by an instinct more powerful than reason. The next chapter of their entwined fates was about to unfold, and neither of them would be prepared for the path ahead. As her brothers celebrated her birthday at midnight in her room. Kabir was on his way to his home. His home, his Avni, His beloved diavolo.
